Yesterday I noticed water dripping from the SW pump shaft on my 16KW M844K NL genny so pulled the pump to replace the seals - of which I have spares. But in disassembling the pump I discovered that one of the two shaft bearing sets is rather rough and needs replacing. Figuring I'd replace both I discovered that neither bearing has a number - first time I have seen bearings with no numbers.
The pump is a Jabsco, also with no number on it so I can't figure out which pump it is and what bearings it might take. I suspect that the no-number bearings are intentional for the purpose of charging 70 bucks for them (from a NL supplier). I tried to cross reference them by dimension to several bearing catalogs but had no luck. I don't really care to pay 140 bucks for a couple of 10 dollar bearings. Any ideas?
Disregard, I found the 10 dollar bearings for 27 bucks http://www.pumpvendor.com/Jabsco_92600-0120.html ... That price is "a bit excessive" but workable as opposed to "No F&^%$#@ way!"
I tried to delete this post completely but couldn't - sorry.
