Hey guys
We are heading to Block in two weeks & have decided to leave a day early. I haven't been to Niantic since I was a kid so here's a question for ya...

Is Niantic a nice place to stop with the family? What's a good marina and your thoughts on the area? My kids have friends in the area at a beach house so it could be a great day/night stop for us.

Thanks!
David

The main concern I have with Niantic is that you have to deal with a draw bridge that has been problematic in the past. I also don't think of it as a big boat destination relative to slip availability. Have you considered Brewers in Mystic? There's also Spicers in Groton, and the Noank shipyard.

Excellent idea! I ran it by the admiral tonight & she loves the idea. I forgot all about Mystic & it'll be great for the kids too!
Thanks for the suggestion!!

It has been some time since my last visit to Mystic Seaport. If you buy a membership you get museum passes and a free night's dockage once a year. A great deal and a wonderful place.

Thanks for the info Jim!

There is also a trolley that runs from the end of the road by Brewers all the way up to the Mystic Aquarium.

Edit - Oh, and if you want to go shopping for expensive clothing, there's a brand new West Marine across the street from the aquarium.
