New swim platform

Cinderella finally got a new teak swim platform this year. Has been on our wish list for awhile now. Very pleased with the work. 2 coats of Cetol Light and I will try to get a third on this weekend.

Went in the yard this week for bottom paint, put a new gold tape stripe at the water line, had stuffing boxes re-packed, and replaced old gate valve for generator intake with a ball valve. Was a productive week.

Finally figured out how to rotate the pics after a little trial and error.

That's absolutely beautiful!! Just gorgeous!! I have one just like that, albeit much older, and I'm trying to get rid of it and go back to fiberglass. The labor schedule to maintain it is hell, but they sure are pretty when they're fresh.

If you don't already have plans to do so, you may want to put a strip of stainless rubrail around the edge of it.

Hi All,

Both are beautiful and hard to maintain, ask me how I know.......I have the same platform Art does.....

I'm sticking with it because I love the look, and I have a college kid to do the heavy lifting !!!

Try this to fix incorrectly positioned images.

When I've had this problem in the past what I've done is open the image in edit mode using image software like Picasa or something similar. The image will usually look right side up. Use the rotate tab to rotate it completely around back to the proper position, then save it with a new name, then upload that to Sams via attachment.

I had considered the stainless trim, which I like the looks of, and may add later. Being under the covered shed will help with the maintenance. I am continually varnishing something or other, so an annual maintenance coat or two of Cetol isn't that big of a deal. I'm doing the bow pulpit and transom steps anyway.

Cheryl, I agree with Ang, the stainless trim on our platform has protected the outside edge well. I'm sure some of the hits it's taken would have damaged/cracked/gouged the swim platform if it wasn't there.

These are great looking platforms. How wide are they and how thick. I am looking at building my own and some dimensions would be great. I am putting it on a 1973 42c, will be 11' 6" from side to side.
