Starman,

I have been looking for somone to build me a new door. Prices here are quite high due to the fact that there are only a few people to actually do the work.

What do you think the materials cost would be? I actually have the teak trim for the window made and have plenty to do a door.

Also, would you need the door? I dont reallly like the Idea of not having a salon door.

The biggest issue I have right now is that my door is warped. I have no Idea how to fix it other than to build a new door. I would be willing to fix it if yall have any ideas.

I do not need the door, just the measurements. Teak is running about 18 bucks a board foot now. Then there is the cost of the lock/hinges/glass.

Many times you can re-use those items, but in order for me to mortise the lock set, I would need to have it on hand. Same goes for the hinges. And there is always a chance when building a new door from a distance, that the lock and or hinges may not line up dead on with the old.

Not much we can do about that.

Off hand , I would estimate about 250.00 for the teak, epoxy, screws, caulk, etc.... 500.00 labor.

Glass, hinges, locks are extra items.

I can do this for you, or any one else if they wish. But I have "something " :D going on right now ( aside from Boss Lady) that will require a lot/all of my extra time for the next 3-4 weeks .

So if you are interested in me doing this, I would say some time in July would be best.

Hey Starman, I'll be in touch in a month or so... Thanks! 1/4 is fine..And my hinge is just a long hinge screwed to the side of the door, nothing fancy or cut out. The lock could be one of these, what do you think?

That would be fine. A stainless piano hinge and the lock. I will check with my suppliers and see how much I might be able to save you on this hardware, when we get to that point.

Thank You
