Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
Finally got my new doors done. A guy at my Yacht Club has a full wood shop in his garage and made them for me. I bought the wood and set the glass myself. I really like the glass in the bottom panels. JohnCA9A9C72-C850-4B78-B79C-A033F3BCEB4A.webp

Looks fabulous John. Love the lower glass panels.

Wow! That looks fantastic!

looks great!
what type of glass?
Mine are crying out for a refinishing and I may just do the same thing.

It’s 1/4 inch laminated glass

Really nice, more pics?

Looks great!!

I have thought about making the starboard door a little bit larger and the port a little bit smaller. To make it a little easier to pass.

Interesting. Yes, the one door can be a bit tight when carrying things. Not sure about an asymmetrical look though.....

Looks fantastic! I'm envious :)

The old doors were 1 1/4 in plexiglass and weighed about 100 lbs. each and just did not fit with the style of the boat. We are in Ssouthern Calif. so they spend a lot of there time open. But the extra light with the glass in the bottom when closed is great.

They look great, a wonderful job!!!
