  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
When taking the old amplifier out the speaker wires broke free
So l have two sets of wires in grey cables Each has a red white black and green
Am l right in thinking each batch of wires is for The saloon speakers and the other for the rest of the boat

The original amplifier on my boat was a 2 channel Marantz and it supported A and B speakers. So, the wires you have are, Speaker system A, left and right channel (4 wires), and Speaker system B, left and right channel (4 wires)... you'll find some speakers are daisy chained off others.. Most modern Amps won't drive the OEM speakers.. something about the ohms required. I have taken and old Pioneer 1050 Reciever and hooked it up... while it would drive the speakers, time has taken its toll on the cones and they didn't sound that good... You can find modern 2 channel amps, but I never found one that supported simultaneous use of A and B speakers (it was A or B).. The Ohmage output compatibility with daisy chained speakers was also an issue. Using a vintage Amp or Reciever with A and B speakers works well, just don't be surprised if you need some Speaker repair.
