Hello,
Took delivery of the new boat, 1979 58' Y?F! seller delivered from home port to me, in route he damaged the swim platform. I would like to get away from the teak. Anyone know of something available please let me know. Thank you!

Congrats on the new boat, best of luck.

About the damaged swim platform.... how damaged is it? I don't mind teak. When you replace it I would be interested in buying it as well as the brackets, if usable. Please PM me.

thanks,
R

Try Beachcomber Fiberglass in Stuart FL

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome board. I have a 1979 with a teak swim step. If I were to switch out I would make sure I got a much Deeper swim platform. Before warned that when you switch out your swim step that you will want to redesign your boarding ladder. Hopefully you got a good deal on the boat, you’re going to spend a bunch on the swim step. Add a bunch of new photos to your profile. If you need any help or have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out.

I have an original Hatt platform. My beam is 17-6.

$4495.00 from Swim PlatformsInc. In Phoenix Ariz. does not include the Staple Rails. John

John, did that include the new brackets?

There is a guy up here that is replacing the OEM platform on his 1985 53ED. It will be available shortly including the brackets. It's not mine but the boat is in the same storage building. He's working on it now.

Broadus Rose with Lookout Boat Windows makes a really nice swim platform. Give him him a call 252 723 2222.

Rusty, that included brackets and a pull out fold down swim ladder

Thank you! We got a fair deal- but got a great boat! I like the Beachcomber line, but with brackets and everything is $5,000 before shipping...... I really appreciate all the help and value any and all suggestions.

I saw Broadus today and asked him if he had a swim platform. He said he had one in stock. I don't know how much his cost.

I will call him tomorrow. Thank you

Response to OP. One option is the teak can be epoxy sealed and finished and made to look like glass. Expect to re condition after 10 years but not at all a big job. If building new make sure there are enough relief vents built in or it will beat like a drum in waves. Made this mistake on a 46 Bertram and had to have new relief vents cut in between originals. This meant haul out and yard time due to my mistake. Got lucky because it looked good after that.
