  1. CAPTAIN
Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
On a beautiful, breezy Sunday afternoon, my friend Susan (a/k/a Angela's boat model), invited Pascal and I to go sailing on a Catalina 25 sloop. We packed our picnic bag consisting of wine, chocolate cake and wine, and off we went to explore the bay waters near Indian Creek just off the 79th Street Causeway.

It didn't take long for Pascal to take the rudder as Susan and I sipped and chatted about the great weather. Suddenly! Lo and behold! We came to a sudden thudded halt! WE RAN AGROUND!!! Pascal started to curse in French while we laughed our butts off! Before I could check if the content of the wine was at the same level, Susan had jumped off the bow to push us off the sandbar. I looked back at Pascal, who was fuming after hearing that Susan knew of the sandbar and had run aground there before, and saw that he had no intention of going in the water to assist. So, off I went after Susan to help her push. We were soon turned 90 degrees and able to continue our pleasant sail, and Pascal never released the tiller after that. He is definitely a closet sailor! If I have my way, I'll have him off that Hatt and onto a big cat sailing the coastline of Cuba in no time!

Geez Pascal. I will have to get you up to Detroit to race my sailboat this summer. Can you trim a main to get a little more height when needed? And when we need to foot off a bit for speed, can you get that main trimmed correctly? Oh don't worry Pascal....As long as you have that killer instinkt like I see in your picture here.:)

I can see Pascal as a sailor, but only if you put up a mast on his 53. After all, if it's not a Hatteras, it can't dock itself "like a kitten"(add your own French accent). And I just don't see him giving up that boat for a catamaran.

Geez, I hope no one from my insurance company in the underwriting department is reading this....I just got Captain Pascal listed as an insured captain on my policy.

Although this does bring back memories of our little trip to Jimbos....we ran aground over there too in the Hober. LOL That was a fun night!

geez... who can you trust in this world? it's clear i can't trust susan aka Angela's boat model as she kept saying we were in deep waters.... and now i can't trust my girlfriend!!! she posts the story AND pictures !

seriously... it shows that you can never let your guard down. you go on a boat for a simple afternoon sail, you get handed the tiller and the "captain" just goes on sipping wine and keeps saying "no problem mon"

Confession time : I AM A CLOSET SAILOR! "hi, my name is Pascal and I am a sailcoholic" ... oops this is not a AA meeting!

nonetheless my resume includes a couple of Rolex Regattas in St Thomas, a few races on the maxi Speedy Go and many local regattas on 30 footers... I also started as crew with one nutty hobie 16 sailor before quickly taking over as skipper...

I know that i will end up on a big cat one day... and not a power cat, but one with a big stick in the middle... I think i also know who will be on board, although considering this current stab in the back thread... hmmmm....

unless of course, one of the only four sailing Hatteras happens to be for sale at the right price!

Poor Pascal..... He gets no respect...

Oh, just saw your captains website... See it's very close to mine I've had 8 years now...

Maybe they have point...

:}

OK guys, here's proof that Pascal can't motor or sail for sh** when he's around girls. Angela, remember this?

sometimes he even runs out of fuel!

You folks are having way too much fun. My HAT will be on the hard for another two months- so I guess it's already aground.

One thought Pascal might be a gator sailor- they run aground on purpose....

Poor Pascal, rough life he has, having to "taxi" around a boat load of beautiful ladies all the time...hey Pascal ,please tell us more about those 4 Hatts..they also made ragboats? Those large Lagoons are really nice cats...but I think we will stick with the Hatts...

Cheers, Laurie & Jim

Thanks Sky, looks like some nice sailboats..but too much work for me. Just want to turn on the key, hit the throttle and GOOOOOOOOOO.....;)

Actually, they only made three of them. Believe it or not, we have a rudder in stock for that model - just in case anyone happens to run aground and needs one (sorry Pascal, couldn't resist).
