Mothers Day: No cords please

My X said to my wife that she was lucky. The wife gets boat stuff and all she got was tractors or parts. Go figure. Its all in the training.

So this morning I put this huge box in the dining room.

It is a carpet cleaner, with a cord !!


When Becky saw it she gave me " the eye"

I told her to just read all the features this thing had. So reluctantly she started reading the box. Then as she moved to the backside of the box, she got happy.

There was a small bag which contained her real gift. A matching necklace for her bracelet I had bought her last year.


So all is well again in the household.

While at the jewelery counter in Sams, this young girl about 22ish started hitting on me and was very serious about me buying her this 185,000.00 10 k ring.

I told her rich people are rich because we do not buy jewelery like that . ( like I could afford that anyway, lol )

So she then was getting close to me, and asked me to buy her a 2200.00 ring. Now this whole time the girl behind the counter who knows me and my wife as customers, and by name, could not believe what this other girl was doing.

Then this guy came up behind her and said quietly is everything OK ? And the girl said it is going well.

I wore a badge for about 8 years and saw right through this from the very get go. Can any spell "scam" ?

When I told her I was married and showed her my ring she said "oh, that little thing" she won't know.

I just walked away.

I told the girl behind the counter to not tell Becky until after this morning. I told Becky the story.

Her response" I guess you are still a "Babe' Magnet"



So this has been a good morning and now I have to get ready for church !







One last little note.....


I had the pleasure of meeting Rick and Kate yesterday at the boat yard. Very nice folks indeed.

And kate, take it easy and hope that surgery heals fast cause' I know you can't wait to get those tools in your hands again

My wife scrapped the varnish off the railings on the boat. What a gal.
