words like hero are losing their true meaning. really shows how careless the use of words has become.
for the life of me i just don't understand how nike thought this was a good marketing plan. very similar to kaepernick's action but
incensing 50%+/- of the population is not the way to get people to come together and support/buy whatever you are preaching/selling.
kaepernick, he was a mediocre quarterback who wanted to make a statement from his elevated social position as a professional athlete.
probably didn't ask anyone what they thought of his idea or fully grasp what he was about to unleash and "just did it".
nike, after watching the uproar kaepernicks action caused, how many upper muckety mucks where in the room and gave this project the go ahead?
if someone wants to generate a conversation on todays society ills , perhaps not pissing off half the population with your opening statement would be a better tact.
