Miami Boat Show

HI,

We are in the Hollywood Marina just south of Ruffy's on the west side of the ICW. If you go across the Hollywood bridge, we are two blocks north of the bridge. Slip B1 on the end of the the 'B' dock. You might give us a call to make sure we are there, as we would like to pop over to the boat show to look over the other used boats.

I just looked at the layout and exhibiter list from the Miami Boat Show website and I don't find either Hatteras or Sam's Marine. Does anyone know where they are and how to get there?

I will be attending the show Thursday and Friday. Does anyone know what the difference is between "Premier Day" (Thursday) and the rest of the days (i.e., Friday) other than Thursday's ticket price is almost double? Is there something special happening on Thursday? I've never been to this show.

Thanks.

Hatteras including Steve McPhearsen are at the Brokerage show on Collins Ave., in Miami Beach (across the street from the Fountain Blu hotel). Walt

That's correct. The Hatteras display is right on Collins Avenue. Steve and I will be there - usually hanging out somewhere around the Hatteras Apparel Store. Just ask anyone at the front registration desk or Pat and Rhonda in the store and they will find us.

Steve and I will be at the Sam's Marine store in Lauderdale on Wednesday and that's where I will be most of the time. Steve will be at the show Thursday thru Sunday this year. I've got a ton of work to do at the store in Lauderdale but I'll probably make the show Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Doug,

Tell me you have the classic's T shirts for sale at the show. I want one with a 58 yf on it. I know last year you guys were working on getting them out.

Mario

Mario,

I'm afraid we still have not gotten to that project yet. I also own the company (Deep River Traders) that handles all the apparel and merchandise for Hatteras, Albemarle, and others.

Hatteras gave their permission some time back for us to create a line of apparel for the vintage yachts. It is still on our list of things to do and when we get there I'll include a link on this forum. We plan on introducing the designs one model at a time, starting with the 53MY.

We'll try to get it going sometime in the very near future.

I'd love to know from others if they would be interested if we started offering tees with designs of the older models. Feel free to let me know here or let the girls at the Hatteras apparel booth (Pat & Rhonda) know if you stop by the Miami show.

I know that the current fad is for t-shirts. I recently realized that I had filled an entire large drawer with t-shirts I had collected over the years. Even on a Hatteras that's a LOT of my clothes storage space. They were mostly brand new because I almost never wear t-shirts. So I gave most of them to a charity auction. (They made a bundle from them, possibly once again indicating that I am not squarely in the mainstream of fashion.)

I'd sure wear a collared polo shirt with classic Hatteras yachts on it. For sure if it had a front pocket. Programs for one of those computerized embroidery machines would be keen and shouldn't be too expensive. I know there are sort of generic designs in booths at the boat show, and I have considered these, but a real Hatt design would be one I would surely buy.

Or, possibly, if you could invent sort of a "Slim-U" tee....

Polo shirts would be cool, as would caps. I'd buy 'em for sure as long as the price wasn't outrageous.

45C owner here.....

I sure like Jim's idea of the actual Hatteras yachts in embroidery, I'd buy them. But I must say IF I could buy tee-shirts with a Hatteras 61 MY on them (maybe outline on the back, Hatteras logo on the front), I'd buy a bunch of those!!

1984 61' MY Strategic Plan

A collared polo shirt with a pocket would be my lst choice. Unfortunately my model (1982 48' MY) was not produced in great numbers and so the demand will probably be small, however, the same shirt with a classic 43 DC or just about any Hatteras MY would be nice. Walt

My wife and son and I will be in Miami. It would be great to meet you after ordering stuff all these years.

I missed the Ft. Lauderdale Show and am coming down for the show and hopefully to buy a classic Hatteras. Looking at Ocean Motion, 70' 1973,and would like to see others in range and size. Can anyone direct me to research on this boat, reviews, etc.
Thanks,
Capt. Ron

Ron, I have spent quite a bit of time aboard "Ocean Motion" Send me a PM or e-mail and I will pass along my impressions.

HI,

We would love to have any Hatteras owners that are at the boat show to stop by and give us your opinions on the refit that we did to our 64' CPMY.
We will have it open for looking at the Hollywood Marina just north of the show. It's about 15 min away. Stop by, have a beer and give us your opinion.

I met Dave yesterday at Hollywood Marina. Very nice guy, who owns a very nice 64 CPMY. It was a pleasure to meet you Dave!

We (Sam's Marine) are trying to make plans to attend the Miami show in February. We were wondering how many of you might be planning to attend. Since Hurricane Wilma played havoc with the Lauderdale show back in October, we were curious if more people might be planning to attend Miami next month.

Where will the Hatteras display be located? I am coming on Sunday and don't want to miss it.

I understand the Hatteras display is across from the Fountainbleu Hotel on Collins Ave. They usually have a lot of floating docks, tents, etc., and prominent signs. There are usually shuttle busses running between the venues for us to catch, but it may pay to leave extra time to get there. Steve McPherson and Doug Langley from Sam's have said they would be around the Hatteras apparel area (in or near the Hatteras display) on Sunday. I'm planning on arriving at the show shortly after it opens on Sunday for general looking around, and hope to meet any Hatteras owners at Sam's at 4pm. I'll be ready for a beer and a sit-down by then. What better place to meet, talk and get our Hatteras questions answered? Hope to see others there!

I met Steve at the show today, and picked up my SAM's T-shirt. What a nice guy! Thanks Steve!

So, is there a Hatt and/or Sam's designated time or place to meet for a mixer?
