Turns out there is another member of this forum at our marina in Cape Canaveral Fl. He has a 67 41dc or twin cabin, not sure which. He comes down from W VA to work on her. added a fairly impressive hard top with new bridge etc. very stout in keeping with original design and construction. inside appears fairly original and in very good shape. 853's appear clean as does the engine room. I believe his name is also Steve. Good meeting him.

I had no idea there were so many people locally here in Brevard County. I am in Melbourne working on my 45C restoration project. It would be great to get together with other members of the forum to discuss ideas, techniques, and the like...

You east-coasters are lucky. While there are Hatts here in the NW (Seattle)I'm not sure any are forum members. If there are, I'd love to meet up with you.

J's Dream, I will be at my boat this weekend. Working on some top side refinishing, may pull out into the barge canal and anchor to the sanding will not blow around the marina.

give me a call

John,

Definitely! Let me know when you'll be in the area. Send me a PM. My Hatt was damaged in the '04 storms, and since I knew the owner at the time the damage occured, I knew the boat relatively well and felt comfortable with fixing it myself. The boat sustained a crack above the port rubrail from the master stateroom forward to where the v-birth begins, and a gash/hole below the port lights between the stateroom and head. All the damage was done when the boat broke free from its slip and sort of created a new one on the other side of the marina. So... I've had it now for about 8 weeks, and am slowly fixing the damage, one nice day at a time.

When I saw the fantastic photos that Pascal took during Wilma I realised that his boat is across the street from my son's new home in Coconut Grove FL. When I visited my son, I called Pascal, met him and both Steve,(my son), and I enjoyed some conversation and a free beer from Pascal. Very nice of him...Thanks Pascal.
