Good to know where you are. We get down to Muskegon quite often on one of our "dinner cruises" to Dockers or The Lake House.

For a nice overnighter, come up and see us in White Lake. It's only a 10 mile run.

I just looked at the specs and photos on YachtWorld. To me it looks like a perfectly nice older boat for $49,900. Any buyer looking at a 1973 or 1974 model year boat should "beware" just on general principle. I had not noticed this boat on the market before so thanks for pointing it out to everyone.

I will post pics before they made the Mistral look pretty to sell. Pretty isn't the problem.

It is the smell of burned fiberglass (a bad pine stench) that I fear will return every time the weather gets humid. None of the electronics were replaced. Fiberglass often has chlorine in it. The chlorine outgasses during a fire and combines with the water mist from firefighting activities and just plain Michigan summer humidity. I iunderstand hydrochloric acid is the result. It will make short work (1-2 years) of the copper in electronic devices.

The aluminum extrusions on the boat were already etched when we saw the boat in June 2013. The exterior paint wasn't doing well either. Maybe it just needed wax and polish, but the former name of the boat was ghosting through the paint on the stern. That wasn't an issue before the fire.

I can see where we might try to do that! I am going to try and get out, weather permitting. The Admiral is still jumpy after our trip(?) in the 60kt winds and 12-15' seas several years ago; and the GL seas run steep, not nice gentle swells. I am not proud of that mis-adventure.

I still need to learn the waters around here, as I was spoiled by the protected Straits of Mackinaw.
