Marina Fire in Port Lambton ON

This morning the St. Clair Boating Storage Facility in Port Lambton ON caught fire and burned. Reports indicate there were 65 or more boats stored there. Port Lambton is located on the St. Clair River in Ontario Canada. Some of you may know a fellow boater who is winter stored there.

The amount of public information is incredibly limited especially when one thinks of the amount of news coverage of the recent Grove Harbor fire.

To be clear, this Ontario facility housed a number of boats in the 40' to 50' range. There were two storage "barns" side by side. I'm waiting for confirmation but I believe the "only" damage to boats in barn 2 was from smoke. All of the boats in barn 1 were destroyed together with 4 antique cars.

The damages total in the multi-millions.

I know at least ten people with boats winter-stored at this facility but I don't know whose boat was in which barn.

A lot of people going to be hunting for replacement boats.
