Saw this one. 2:30 is Sea Spray on Elbow Cay where we used to live aboard in the Winter. We know one of the boats upside down. We know he did everything he could to protect it.

just devastating......

Looked like Aubrey’s and the Ferries are destroyed. MOW is supposed to be a hurricane hole. Looks like none of the boats that were anchored survived either. There were tons of live aboard son these sailboats that I’m sure tried to ride it out.

From Hopetown Fire and Rescue FB page;

A general survey of damages using video footage.
Elbow Cay – 30% of structures demolished . 70% of structures damaged to severely damaged
Most docks destroyed and unusable 99% of boats sunk

Man O War Cay, all docks destroyed and every boat sunk. 90% of structures damaged to severely damaged. 10% of structures destroyed.

Dickies Cay – all docks destroyed. 50% structures destroyed & 50% of structures damaged to severely damage.

We are closely examining the footage house by house and will release our assessments as soon as we have it compiled.

From the sailing club website;

Those of you attempting to make trips with supplies, etc. please be cautious! We have heard reports that MH is deteriorating, people are looting and it appears to be dangerous. Please wait to come until we are sure that law and order is restored. Not to mention the conditions you would be going into- intense heat, mosquitoes, insufficient shelter, etc. We don’t want anyone else’s life endangered. The coast guard is saying that no one should come at this time.

Yes my daughter got a message from a friend over in GBI about the looting. Apparently the looters are shooting at coast guard and responders.

I heard that the CG etc. are not being interfered with. Time will tell.

Bad link and I am on FB. BTW, I read a story the shot was accidental and not aimed at anyone but it killed a child that was playing with it.
