Not Roland Leong is it? He raced the Royal Hawaiin hemi funny car. ws

I was thinking of Roland Osborne, who started the National Hemi Owners Association, and a few Chrysler/Mopar mags--this would have been back in the '70s and '80s when he was in Michigan. He has since moved on to other interests, but I spent quite a few hours on the phone with him back in the day, swapping yarns and parts.

Nice ride, BTW, but you need to cut back on toys, Bill!

Nice looking console ddis. With the exception of the script Chris Craft across the front, it is identical to the one I had on my 1965 32' Seaskiff. What did this one come off of?

Yachtsman Bill eat your heart out!

Good eye Bob! It came off of a 32 Sea Hawk/ Sea Skiff. I added the script and the crest is not correct for the vintage, although I do have a NOS propellor plate that is correct. I also have a complete console from a 68 47 Commander that needs a loving home. Dave

OMG, that bar is stunning!

Probably one of....no, THE best bar I have ever seen.

OK, Next HOF get together will be at Sky's house.

Don't give me too much credit. I owned her from '86 til '06, so I had a lot of time looking at that console. And yes, she was a Seahawk, but most folks aren't familiar with that designation.

And you are correct about the crest being wrong. That one is too tall. I did find a NOS crest that I installed on mine. I also had all the gauges rebuilt and rechromed by Pat Powell, and I refinished the console and mahogony wheel components myself. Mine wasn't completely original either, as I put a mahogony veneer over the black matte behind the gauges and wheel, and finished it bright to match the rest of the console. I just thought it looked a lot better.

When I sold her in '06 it was with some regret, after running her for 20 years. Just didn't have the time and resources to keep her up at the same time as maintaining and running the Hatt. Over that 20 years, I rebuilt both 327F engines 3 times, refastened the hull, replaced the mahogony transom, replaced the gunwales and several ribs (built a home made steamer for that), removed the flybridge and rebuilt the roof before reinstalling it, rewired both AC and DC, rebuilt the steering, replaced the fuel system from pumps to tanks, installed a modern head and holding tank, reverse cycle AC, radar chartplotter, custom built a pulpit and installed a windlass, and had the entire interior reupholstered.

They guy who bought her got a heck of a boat for his $6k.

Thanks. It was a project before we bought the Hatteras. I needed a boat so bad that I finished my entire basement in mahagony with trim to make it look like raised panels. The design of the bar was all mine, but I enlisted my father-in-law to build the cabinets. The bar top is teak and holly ply that I flooded with that epoxy coating that is designed for bars. The portlights came from the Galveston shipyard in the 70's. They were sitting in my grandfather's garage and I just had to put them to use.

I keep telling you guys to get up here to Michigan, but it seems like sunny FLA seems to always be preferred.

I still have the CC disease. I cured it by buying a 68 31 Commander that was all original. It still has the 327Fs and they still keep going. I have 2 spares as well. After I get done working on customers boats, I spend my time working on either the Hatt or the Chris, mostly the Hatt. I have had 5 Commanders!

Hey Bill,
Maybe you need to trade that old car for a new Dodge.

It just came out at the Chicago Auto Show. Cum-mon, it's right close by :)

Pretty retro daddio !! Base price is 49K. Roz Varon featured that on the news today. I wonder if thats a heater delete model?? They also showed a Ferrari SUV gauranteed to do 240! (300K) " Best handling SUV in the world" is the sales pitch. Has 12 drink holders too; I'm sure! ws

They're sweet old engines. The last time I fully built them ('97/98winter) I had them bored .040 over, and put in all new parts, from carbs to heads to new marine cams to forged pistons and crank to high volume oil pumps. Even had them balanced at a local speed shop. With everything original on the boat, those 4000rpm engines turned 4700 and moved the boat at 28kts. Between the two engines, I spent almost a grand just on stainless steel hardware for every non-load bearing nut and bolt.

Oh, and just for good measure, when I sold her, I tore them down one last time and freshened up the rings and bearings, and gave her a fresh valve job.
