  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
60' MOTOR YACHT (1987 - 1989)
Finally wired both of my transformers for boost. Thank you Sky!! Weird symptom, loss both of my ammeter read outs when shore power is selected to monitor. With the either generator running and selected to monitor, the meter works and reads 60hz. My boat had the 120V in option but we had to eliminate it to wire for boost. Not sure of the specifics but I know we removed (taped off) one of the neutral wires inside the transformer. I also saw one of the jumpers that was eliminated (taped to the neutral wire for the ability to go back to the original wring) as well. Any ideas why?

That would be a frequency meter, not an ammeter. Its really not necessary except for the on the generator. All power in the US is 60hz

Do you have lil switches on the panel below the meters labeled Gen-Set & Shore-power?

Oops my bad, yes freq meters and yes I have selector switches.
