Wow, I'd buy it anyway!

Cruises at "20"? 20 what, miles per day? Sounds pretty ambitioius, but that looks to be a heck of a deal. Maybe we should go check it out.

Oh yeah, pick up a couple of cases of filters and a spare oil line would ya'?

Bruce Roberts designed some great offshore sailing hulls. Most of his designs we for the "home built" cruisers. I haven't seen any of his power boat designs. This one looks pretty nice though. If I were going to buy it I'd find a surveyor that specalizes in steel boats. If they aren't built and maintianed right they can rot at the dock in short order.

May be a Roberts design but we should know who built it. Is it naval steel (Corten), or is it galvanized. Or just painted. And what about the welds. And there have to be LOTS of bleed holes so no water is trapped inside. Inner condensation is the problem due to how easy steel gets cold in contact with the water. Corrossion begins from inside out. And in some marinas, stray water currents can be plain murder for metal hulls.
I too think that 20 knts cruise in a 70000 lbs boat with 900Hp is pretty ambitious. But then the draft is only 3' 6" ......I wonder how it handles a rough sea. It looks kind of "roundish", a little sail boat hull shape...maybe was to be a motor sailer, with some sort of retractable keel, and maybe a sail?

Miguel, am I to understand this is a home made boat based on plans listed on that link?

That would be a bit scary to me and explain the low price for such a large, low hour boat.

The hull design doesn't look too bad, but the interior is really a bad layout. It is worse than most RVs, LOL. There is no usable exterior space from what I can see. Why would you want a boat if you stay inside all the time.

Mike I like that link I came across it from an add in the back of a trawler magazine but I didn't put the name to it ,till you posted it. It would be nice to order some plans for a new boat build for our new TV show everyone is talking about :D
PS Mike one more post and your a senile member :p

Better make sure your AAA is paid up to come out and fix a flat for you. I'm sure Randy can make one of those 26 ply tires go flat in a parking lot !! ws
