I have a Sentry FR series 32 volt charger that I believe is less then 10 years old. Instead of giving a full charge, and shutting off, it charges to about 28 volts, and starts this surging thing. If I put it on manual, it charges everythong up fine, but obviously wont shut off.

Any Ideas?

Yes. Buy a smart charger and get rid of that old thing. You'll get better life out of your batteries too.

I just shipped a charger to sentry for checkout and calibration. Is should be back in a week or so. I'll let you know what they say about it.

I think it was missing a tie bar on one leg that caused it to over charge.

Isn't that series of Sentrys a smart charger? Maybe I'm confusing it with another one. They DO build smart chargers, and have for a while.

You may not have the cut in and cut out values set correctly. Check the manual for how to do that. There are little dials you adjust.
