Where will you be keeping the boat?

Tony

You didn't mention a budget or how you wanted the boat rigged but here a couple really nice examples to look at. The 39 is essentially an updated version of the 38. Same basic Hull just newer design topsides and a little different interior arrangement. This 39 is really nice and even has newer 4 stroke design Cummins Power as opposed to the Detroits. The 38 is all redone and looks very nice and updated as well.

This one is rigged with a tower, not sure if that's a plus or minus for you.

There are a few others priced lower but don't look as updated in the listings. I personally would rather pay up front a little more, then buy a less expensive boat that needs some work. Boat yards an mechanics charge the same if your boats $60K, $600K, or $1 Million Plus. It seems as though you've already found out that "bargin" can quickly cost more then the nicer boat if it needs attention. If you don't do the work yourself that $75,000 boat that needs some updating, bottom work, engine Maint etc can very quickly become a $125K boat. It sad but is very true.

capt tony, budget is closr to the 60k or so boats. I love that 98 39 footer witht he cummins but can't go that high. I will be keeping the boat in long island, ny

Asking prices are just asking prices. You can always make an offer, if they don't like it, they'll say no.

Both nice boats. I don't care for galley-up designs, but the 38 looks like a nice older boat.

Bump, still looking
