Well, I am so sorry to relate that our little 15 yoa Bichon Frise, "Princess" left us yesterday, Aug 11.2012. She was born the year we bought the boat, so was with us from the beginning.
She took most/all of our boat trips with us on the Great Lakes and was up to the MI U.P. and back and was on-board for the terrible storm in Oct, (2010 I think) with my Dad, wife, my brother, and my son. She was on board all our Spring maiden and Fall go home voyages. She also rode with us, for our big move (for us after 15 years) from Mack City to Grand Haven, MI Memorial Day this year.
So she was an experienced sailor and happy to be on board!
We had to keep an eye on her, as she would go forward and liked to look out from the bow pulpit. The one time she accidently went into the water, (at the dock), she actually swam under water (she liked to do that) and came up to me at the swim platform. She was sighted then, but was blind the past few years.
My wife and I will and do miss her! Marilyn loved her with all her heart and I did too!
Sorry for a long post about a little dog, but I am tearing up, as I write this. Thanks...
