Well, I am so sorry to relate that our little 15 yoa Bichon Frise, "Princess" left us yesterday, Aug 11.2012. She was born the year we bought the boat, so was with us from the beginning.

She took most/all of our boat trips with us on the Great Lakes and was up to the MI U.P. and back and was on-board for the terrible storm in Oct, (2010 I think) with my Dad, wife, my brother, and my son. She was on board all our Spring maiden and Fall go home voyages. She also rode with us, for our big move (for us after 15 years) from Mack City to Grand Haven, MI Memorial Day this year.

So she was an experienced sailor and happy to be on board!

We had to keep an eye on her, as she would go forward and liked to look out from the bow pulpit. The one time she accidently went into the water, (at the dock), she actually swam under water (she liked to do that) and came up to me at the swim platform. She was sighted then, but was blind the past few years.

My wife and I will and do miss her! Marilyn loved her with all her heart and I did too!

Sorry for a long post about a little dog, but I am tearing up, as I write this. Thanks...

They are family members and deserve all the love they get. Im sorry for your loss of such a loving pet.
Remember all dogs go to heaven. Cats are g-ds way of punishing us.

As a dog lover and keeper (not owner) of our 13 year old PeekaPoo, I can't imagine losing him. He has been through several boats with us and on every trip and there is a bond that develops that can't be explained.

We understand your grief, emptiness, and especially the companionship you shared. There is doggy heaven and he's there keeping watch on you.

Quincy,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Princess. Dogs are truely man's best friend and they are beloved members of the family. Our Boat dog Hercules is getting old and slowly failing. We love him with all our hearts. I really do believe we will be reunited when our time here is over.
Sincerely,
Dave and Linda

So sorry to hear of your loss. Just know that he is running free and with his sights on the Great Lakes again. You will be re-united with Princess again....ppat and ws

I still constantly think of my last 4 dogs...... No matter what kind of mood you come home in, they are always happy to see you.... and can't help but smile...
I feel your pain............
