Leaks in the seams of bimini

When I was a kid, I recall a product that we painted on the seams of our pup tents to prevent rain water leaking through. Is there anything available to treat the seams on our biminis? Thanks, Rick

There are a few liquid waterproofing products for "canvass". I've used Thompson products and a couple of others over the years. You just have to be sure they are compatible with your canvas material.

When I got my last top, my canvas people gave me a bottle of "Tear Mender - Fabric and Leather Adhesive" to seal leaks. I have never used it but I might after getting wet this past weekend.

We used to use the Thompson's Water Seal as well. I don't know if there is anything better out there now, but that stuff seemed to work pretty well.

If the leak is on the seam, try Crazy Glue if there are holes from the thread. Crazy glue is also very good for flags. Put some on the seam where it rips and it holds the seam together, thus negating the need to drop another $20 for several months. This only works for vinyl, nylon combo's
