  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
70' COCKPIT MY (1988 - 1997)
It appears that engine zincs were not a priority for the previous owner and it looks like the lower bronze return fittings from the heat exchanger have become porous and are leaking. Has anyone have a suggested source for these? The engines are 1996 Det. 12v92s DDEC'S
Thanks

Check with a Detroit dealer or, if your engines are Coveington or J&T coversions, check with them.

Lenco made new heat exchangers for my 6v92 ta's. They had shop drawings for all the Covington aftermarket stuff. They were great to deal with.

I have no affiliation with Lenco I'm just a satisfied customer.

Thanks for the feedback......Ft Myers Det. D. Found one in Lauderdale for $316. Has anyone tried having something like this brazed or welded? Not sure if these bronze fittings can be brazed.....etc.

"Not sure if these bronze fittings can be brazed."

Sure, bronze is easily brazed/bronze-welded with oxy/acetelene and a bronze filler rod. I worked in a metal shop back in my college years as a summer job and did exactly that for 8 hours a day!

I have worked with the Det. D. Outlet here in FT Myers and it appears that it is not a Det. Casting....Is there a way to tell if it is a Covington or JT conversion? That was their thought.......
