Good evening,
My 8eoz -Kohler w/3cyl. Yanmar is 5 yrs old. So Time to flush the coolant. I drained it from the bottom by the H/E and refilled. I am having a hard time getting the air out. it overheats after a couple of Min. I filled it up tonight and i am going to let it sit O/N and then crack the bleeder on the side when it is cold. Am I missing something Thanks in advance

Can't speak for Kohler but on my Onan its a pain! Look for a bleeder on the water manifold and on the circulation pump. After at least 1/2 dozen attempts and still not getting the air out I removed the thermostat and put a "T" fitting on the highest circulation hose, using a 12v pump I circulated they coolant thru the block for several minutes. Removed the pump, re-installed the thermostat and it worked.

They are a PITA. The only way I have gotten them to bleed is to take the hose to the pump off of the exp tank and then raise the hose as high as you can, then pour coolant into the pump and fill it up.Once full it will pick up and circulate. Kohler should warn about this because they do not self bleed and after a refill the pump cavity is empty as is the top of the head and t stat housing. The sensor is also dry at that point and may not shut the engine down and severe damage is possible.
