Greetings , i am planning a fishing trip down to the Islamorada area at the end of March and am seeking input regarding what to expect . I will be fishing out of a 25' Hydrasport CC and have no experience fishing in the warmer climes . Can anyone give me any tips re; type of fishing , available prey , weather , or any other personal wisdom ? Thanks , Bruce

Just a thought but I've seen a LOT of discussion on TheHullTruth. com on this subject. You may want to do a thread search there.

Enjoy the trip.

Check out the closures with Florida fish and wildlife..etc..

Bruce, I fished the keys back around Christmas with Boss Lady aka Chris Powell on his 38 Fountain. He had a buddy down there who is a professional fisherman/captain who is an old Army buddy. He put us on a couple of spots and was running a 39 Contender.

I'll call Chris and get a name and email address for you, but I know the guy said he posts on THT. I just can't remember the screen name he uses, but I'm guessing he's probably the only guy on THT with a 39 Contender with triple 350 Yamaha's.

This year is supposed to be one of the best in the last 20 years for billfish, but the snook season and some others were closed due to fish kill by the January cold snaps.

Check Passageweather.com for the best forecasts of wind and waves in the keys. It's a great site.
