  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
While tracing the DC house wiring, looking for a place to put my new ammeter shunt I discoverd this item just above the fuse and the rotary switch for the batteries for the stb engine and house dc service.

I know the lower item is a fuse and according to the manual the two 6 ga wires above the fuse which run to the thing which puzzles me lead to the DC electrical panel and the electronics circuit breaker panel respectively.

Can anyone tell me what this thing between the pair of 6 ga wires is?

Do you think this would be a good place to put the shunt for my 50 amp Blue Sea ammeter?

Thanks

Thats an ANL fuse... the element is visible in the center. Probably >50 amp. I think the ammeter shunt neds to be wired in series to the fuse. ws

Thanks, Bill.

It makes sense.

Thanks
