I am getting ready to start this project to reseal the intercoolers air-side gaskets. I read the section of the service manual that Capt Ralph very kindly emailed me and read several old threads for hints and such. I bought 8 new gaskets and basic RTV. I took off several bolts (the underneath bolts are really difficult to access) on one side. But before I pry open the first face, I thought I would ask the forum for wisdom. There are no performance issues per se. This was a finding on the survey along with a small oil leak at the Tachometer drive. Thank youStreff

For a slight air leak as that, I leave them alone. Maybe tighten down the bolts a scoch.
On the air gaskets, I recommend grease and not RTV.

If the water gaskets are not leaking, do not touch them. You may experience Pandora's box if you do.

Your tach drive; Leaking on the engine side may be the gasket or an O ring. Usually the O ring.
I have had to use RTV on this O ring when re-assembling also.
I have a zerk grease fitting on my adapters. A shot of grease stops mine from leaking oil at the cable attachment point.

Thank you very much, Capt Ralph. I appreciate the guidance.. I will tighten things up a bit and possibly insert some thick grease to pack the slight leak.I am glad that I did not go too far in this project. I will keep an eye on it and monitor.Streff

The grease is an air gasket dressing when you re-assemble the air cooler.
I don't think anything is going to patch an air leak from the outside.

Clean it up and monitor. keep us up on your adventures.
