  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series I (1964 - 1971)
I know Derek can't help me here but I just got my first shot. Trying to get the wife scheduled too. It's crazy but I'm expecting a lot of pain tonight when I pull the bandaid from. My hairy arm.

They say April 30 for the second shot then 2 weeks and I'm good.

It's been a long isolation. I'm hoping to get my wife protected ASAP. Then I can get back to somewhat normalcy.

Has anyone had bad side effects? I know it's supposed to be rare. But I got the Pfizer and hope it's a non issue.

Difficult to predict. Some people feel sick for a day or two. Some have hardly any reaction to it at all. The degree of reaction does not seem to have anything to do with the level of protection. Overall, the J&J vaccine seems to have more side effects, but I have not seen anyone who became ill enough to require observation or anything of that kind from a COVID vaccine.

Had 2nd Pfizer on 3-09. Slight swelling and tenderness at injection site. Nothing remarkable over a flu shot. Spousal unit was under the weather 36 hours-also Pfizer.

My whole family had Moderna with no side effects with one exception. My son had the J&J and ran a fever for 24hrs. So, I'm sure if you see any effects, they will be minimal.

Major painful experience. The bandaid stuck to the hair on my arm. So far so good.

I hope to be back in action in about 5 weeks. Fully vaccinated? Who knows with the new variants.

Neither I nor my PTSD (Part Time Sassy Darlin') had any reaction to our two Pfizer shots other than tenderness at the injection site the next day.

Congratulations! It feels like progress.

Got the Pfizer shots back in Feb and Mar. Zero reaction. Mild injection site discomfort, but I suspect no different than if I had an empty needle stuck in my arm.

I don’t get the part about being a long isolation. Neither us nor most of the people o know have been isolated or taken much precautions since China unleashed its red flu on the world. We ve been in contact with 100s of people on the boat (at work) in the last year never wearing masks or anything. Nobody we know got seriously ill, for whoever got the red flu it wasn’t worst than seasonal flu.

We got it early in the Bahamas, in January 2020, when they were still many Chinese tourists. The locals were laughing at them as early as December 2019 because they were all wearing mask. Nobody understood why back then... but they knew about it. It was all nicely planned.

I respect the desire and the freedom of anyone wishing to make big pharma richer if it makes them feel protected but no way in hell I ll be getting it. Unless forced to in order to travel to the Bahamas...

The only person I know who died because of the red flu was a 30 year old former crew member of ours who OD’d on sleeping pills havjng lost his bar tending job (no unemployment benefits for free lancers) and couldn’t afford his mortgage. There are thousands and thousands of similar cases around the country but what an inconvenient truth.

Thank you China.

I agree with Pascal my business was building biohazardous waste incinerators mainly for the major pharmaceutical and government research labs. We burned everything from mice to radioactive cows that they used for testing. I still have many fri that are in the labs. Every one of them said a safe vaccine takes 5-7 years to develop. True that red tape was cut to push these out but people getting these now are the guinea pigs. I’m not an anti vaxer but I know first hand how screwed up most of these pharmas are I’ve burned their mistakes before. And these masks even N95 is only 95% efficient. Unless your wearing a NBC nuclear biological chemical respirator they are just a placebo to make the general public feel like they have some control and comfort. Would you walk into an asbestos remediation site with a cloth or uncertified paper mask? Asbestos may kill you in 20 years but for “ the most deadly virus” your good to go? Give me a break.

I got the Pfizer and the first one didn’t feel anything, no soreness or any side effects. Received second shot 3 days ago and didn’t even get a band-aid had some minor soreness at in the arm on day 2. Overall easy deal.

I had Pfizer with no side effecta

I had Pfizer two weeks ago and had some mild body achy discomfort. Second one due 4/15.

For those saying they’re not getting the jab, I say it’s a matter of patriotism. With this many already vaccinated, the dangerous vaccine argument goes out the window. For those saying it takes five years to develop a safe vaccine, it used to. Never has so much brain and computing power been behind these vaccine developments. For those saying it’s government control, the government has not said you must take the shot. So who’s not stepping up? The lesser educated and conspiracy theorists amongst us, generally. To the latter, put your country and your neighbors ahead of your fears.

I’m not sure that is an argument that has much force anymore. Doing something for the good of the community and one’s fellow citizens and not for one’s self interest smacks of socialism. It’s that whole “we’re in this together” thing vs pure individualism. It’s a concept that seems passé in 2021.

So far there has been no evidence that any of the vaccine prevent transmission. What they do is protect the vaccinated from being seriously ill. So I don’t see where the patriotism argument comes from. If these vaccines really prevented transmission, why does the CDC still recommends vaccinated people still wear masks and social distance ?

From CDC.gov : “ fully vaccinated people should continue to: Take precautions in public like wearing a well-fitted mask and physical distancing Wear masks, practice physical distancing, and adhere to other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people who are at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease or who have an unvaccinated household member who is at increased risk for severe COVID-19 disease
Wear masks, maintain physical distance, and practice other prevention measures when visiting with unvaccinated people from multiple households
Avoid medium- and large-sized in-person gatherings”

If saving American lives was that important, we would ban something that kills as many people as the red flu every year: tobacco.

I guess if you can’t see the benefit to others of you yourself not becoming seriously ill then you I guess the message goes overhead.

For those of you that haven’t known anyone that has died from this thing you are lucky. I hope it is not your parents that end up succumbing to this virus, as there are a whole lot of dead people that have. From a purely humane standpoint, if something as simple as wearing a mask may prevent someone else from getting hurt from this then I am wearing the mask. No sweat for me. I’ve had the vaccine and had no side effects. Got the Pfizer. From this point on I really don’t care if people choose not to wear a mask or bar hop with hundreds of people. Darwinism was made for this. You just can’t save some people from themselves.

Your making the supposition that the vaccines actually work. Any clear thinking person should realize there has not been enough time for any historical data to prove anything. Typically drug development starts with mice and works up to monkeys. They didn’t do that all these vaccines were developed on theory with little or no testing. Wasn’t time for that. 2 years down the road are we going to see higher cancer rates? Other long term problems worse that the Kung flu?

Thank you professor.
