For installation I like KY.

Yes, I know, hold the jokes. Its water-soluable and won't attack the rubber, and its also slippery as hell (which is the idea, right?)

AT THE PHARMACY:
"Yes ma'am; I'd like a large tube of KY so I can insert my impeller into the bore please!" ;<O ws

The impellers in my 6-92 come out rather easy with the Jabsco removal tool. I use the zip tie method and make sure each vane is compressed the same direction and continually retighten the zip tie. The installation is quite quick and done every 3 years.

It is probably the vanity of advancing age and manhood, but I rely on manually squeezing the vanes for insertion. I apply some green dishwasher detergent (liquid, natch), to the bore and vanes, and manually squeeze the vanes on the narrow size of the bore; so I rely on hand strength on the vanes. A slight rotation of the impeller is usually enough to slide it home.

Haven't been greasing the shaft...tsk, tsk, will pick up some lube and do that.

Pulling is another matter and always very difficult. I found that my very good tech had been using screw drivers. Enough of that! I have captured notes on the pullers and will make a purchase...biggest sales pitch was for Ruko...so will try that first.
