I'm out of here!!!

The car is loaded up (down), the kids are strapped in and Yaisy and I are ready for a Looong drive up to NC tonight!!! We should be arriving sometime tomorrow afternoon? Anyhow we can't wait. Look for my position reports and check out our blog page for daily updates. Ed Gaito is going to post our web page on his site if not tell him to post a link (step on it Ed! ;)) we're very happy, lets hope our boat is too...

bon voyage,

Mario

have a fun and safe trip... it's not that long a drive to NC... 10/12 hours or so from what i recall depending how far north you have to go... you'll be there by sunrise :-)

Sounds great. What's the website URL?

Good luck, Mario. Never had the opportunity to do the ICW up there, but I have friends who have and they swear it's a really nice trip. Have fun.

Good luck, Mario. We'll be watching you. Looks like Ed may be here in Miami when you arrive so he'll get to take a look at your new ride!

bon voyage,

Mario

That's the first good news I've had in about three weeks now! Godspeed my friend, and keep us up to date.

Mario, Remember to look up fellow Hatters on the way down, there are several in Merritt Island Fl area, right off of ICW. Remember we always have a good supply of cold beer.

Mario,

I envy you! You are boating in my back yard.

If you have access to a pc and WiFi you might want to download the latest USCG Local Notice To Mariners:

http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/lnm/default.htm

This stuff is generally right on the money and will be very helpful in keeping you safe in "Sholsville" (ICW - NC-GA). Be damned careful at low tide

Be reminded that ICW markers that share river markers all have a gold decal (either triangular or square) to both keep you in the ICW and deeper water.

I could go on and on.

BTW, please send the Forum photos of you '64 Hatt when you reach Miami !

Godspeed,

Capt'n Bill

Mario

Not sure if you've headed out yet, but the Bluefin just showed up off of Cape Lookout...weather looks great for Fri-Sun and we will be fishing if you want to join us!

Good morning everyone!

We just crossed St. Simmons lighthouse. Currently we are headed out to sea. forcast calls for light and variable for most of the day. So far so good. Tonight we will be in St. Augustine Fl. I tried for hours to load updates on our web page last light but it didn't work. I'll try again tonight.

you can read part 1 of our ICW trip at:

i also enjoyed your blog, great pics !

have fun...

waht's your ETA in miami and where are you keeping the boat? dont' you live on a canal in the gable s?

Update,

We are 13 miles from "STA" marker leading into St Augustine inlet. Looks like an approach and night landing. we got a slip at the Conch House Marina Resort.

The old gal is running great at 10.7 kts. The seas are as predicted although the swells have come up a bit, spray hitting the windshield, but hey, we're still in pajamas and having some hot chocolate ;)

life is perfect.

Carl, Yaisy says "HI".

Pascal, probably sometime at the end of this month or next in Miami, we'll keep her at our yacht club (miami outboard club).

Steve, thanks!

Rick thanks!

Doug Thanks!
