What is the best way to keep objects from being sucked up into a Powerhouse Ice Eater? I have 1HP models that work very well when a bag is not sucked up by the prop. They run on the salt water thermostats during the winter months. I'm looking to put some sort of screen on the bottom of the shroud, but am not sure of what material to use and how to fasten it in place. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At the Yacht Club I belong to we made screens of hardware cloth. You can get it at any good hardware store. It is a wire screen made with a 1/4" mesh. I think if you went any finer than that you would restrict the flow excessively.
