I'm wondering if any of the OLD timers on here (myself included) have heard of/remember Southside Marine in Urbanna VA. Ben Hurley started the operation and later acquired the Hatteras dealership and son Dave took over when Ben died. Dave was quite the character but had some really cool ideas. I got my start in the marine field at Southside Marine in the early 80's. To say I learned a lot about how things should be "correctly" done is an understatement. Hatteras' systems were the cutting-edge best in the market at the time and Hurley took that up a notch. Paint had to be perfect and look like a mirror ,wiring bundles had to be bundled straight so as to be able to trace each cable by just looking at it and the list goes on.
Attached is a flyer Hurley did showing the custom modifications done to the Hatteras 45 convertible.
I thought maybe some would find this nostalgia interesting.
