Hello all,Wondering if any input on this?I have older raymarine E120 and looking at maybe changing up..I'm more familiar with humminbird but I have no experience with radar Thanks

I like my Garmin system. Sorry, do not know anything about Hummingbird systems.

P

Hoping someone here has a little experience with one

I always thought Hummingbird stuff was for bass boats.

They do have radar options and they're compatible with their units integrated into the network

Their literature states low power and safe emissions along with superior imaging at short and long ranges -magic or marketing blather? I wouldn't believe this without real-world, objective test comparisons to Furuno and Garmin.

From what I understand the Hummingbird radar is a RayMarine unit with different logo on it.

I guess I was hoping someone here had tried it

May I ask, Where did you get that understanding from?

All mfgs are on to this new low power technology.

Hummingbird has been the leader in underwater sounding technology that the other mfg's can not come close to. They do not need to copy or be in bed with any other vendor.

I remember years ago, Garmin was just for bass boats. Look where they are now; equipping serious aircraft.

Lorance radar is made by Simrad, Hummingbird by Raymarine. Don't know where I heard that but someone in the know told me that.

Believe what you want, Ralph. That is what I was told.

I have used the Humminbird products a few years ago mapping sections of the StJohns river. With my experience then, their equipment was working great, reliable, well built and I would be open minded towards purchasing their radar equipment.
Good luck in your equipment shopping.

I apologize to the OP that nobody here has operated Humminbird radar but eager to say something about the product, even when it is incorrect.
To help explain who owns who, a quick list may help.
Johnson Outdoors is the owner of Humminbird Products Corp.
Teledyne-FLIR owns the Raymarine Products Corp.
Navico Corp merged many marine equipment corps including Simrad, Lawrance, B&G, DMS, C-Map and others. Brunswick Corp just purchased all of these under their ASG banner.

And that doesn't mean they don't buy from another manufacturer under a licensing arrangement and rebrand it.

I wonder why the Hummingbird radar uses a raynet round network cable?

just checking in on this
hoping someone has some experience with it
thanks
