Does any one know if the hull/deck joint on the 1981 48MY is a shoe box type or other design?

I thought they were all shoebox

I've not seen one of those opened up or from the inside but every hatt I have seen was the "shoebox".

Did you break it apart?

Maybe he has some shoes to return

No, I'm seeing some old, dry corrosion on the copper hydraulic lines in a couple of spots and wondering what the water source might have been. The PO ran a bead of caulk around a lot of the rub rail and he may have been attempting to seal something. Any thoughts?

I have seen the rub rail screws leak.

I was thinking the same. OTH, where I can see the inside of the joint in the anchor locker, it has glass tape to add to the seal. Maybe I should pull the metal rub rail and re-do it all.
