Hatteras Model
45' CONVERTIBLE-Series II (1984 - 1992)
44 Kts for a 4 hour full speed run.

And we paid for the fuel.

Must be one heck of an efficient hull design. Look at that wake, or should I say lack of one?

When the boat gets bigger, the max hull speed (all else being equal) goes up. Thus a longer boat can go faster without having to plane. (oversimplified of course)

I'll bet that wake is bigger than you think.

Anyone know what powers it? Props or jet. That kind of wake makes me think it may be a tunnel hull multi jet. I read something on this boat a few months ago. I think they said that it was a troop carrier and didn't have much in the way of armament. They didn't have much to say about it ether. Only it was new. It sure looks different. Wonder how it handles in a deep chop.

I'm sure it is, but I was thinking more in terms of an apparent lack of any bow wave.
