My boat went on the hard 2 weeks ago to get the stabilizers serviced and some other things.
We are now looking at a hurricane in Tampa this Monday or Tuesday or at least the effects of being near one. On top of that, the Republican National Convention has closed the bridges around the yard so even if they splash it and tender delivery, I can't get the boat out of there.
Obviously the best thing for me would be to leave it on the hard until the storm blows through and the Republicans leave town so the bridges open again. I have tried calling the yard and no response. My concern is they will splash the boat and tender delivery in the next 48 hours leaving me with a boat I can't protect with my usual haul out and limited options for protection in a hurricane.
If it comes to that kind of confrontation, anyone know what I should do? Can I refuse acceptance so the boat is their responsibility? My house is on the water and in the first evacuation zone so I may be out of here 36 hours from now.
Hopefully the phone will ring and they will keep it on the hard and I will happily pay a bill for it.
