Help finding a 53C wreck or salvage

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a little help. As I posted on here a while back my 1972 53C had a fire. I am currently in the process of rebuilding her. The fire destroyed the cockpit deck and port side cockpit gunnel. While the deck is fairly easy to build the gunnel will be much more challenging. It's doable but if I could find a boat that is damaged beyond repair to take this fiberglass section from it would save me a lot of time and work. I basically need the gunnel from about mid transom around to the port side about 12" past where the shearline steps up. If anyone knows of a 53C wreck please let me know. Any year will do. I know that there was a entrie 53' that you could buy for about 15K in Ruskin at Interbay Moorings marina at one time. The boat was quite a disaster, but if you were only looking ot cut it apart, then it may be what you are looking for. Good Luck and hope this is helpful.

I think you are insane to do that much of a repair. It will not pay off as even if it looks perfect there will always be the stigma of the boat having a fire.
