Helm seat parts (spiders). Where to buy?

Hey all....
I just installed a gorgeous pair of Murray Brothers helm chairs with 4" stainless pedestals. I've been looking for a pair of footrests but holy cow, they start around $1,200 & surpass $3k each. Pompanette makes these but again, they are $1,600 each. I can EASILY fabricate the footrest itself with either mahogany or some really nice pieces of teak but as easy as it sounds, I can't find the "spiders" to mount them.
I can't use the basic table mounts as the tops (though I could machine them out) have solid tops & spiders are open all the way through so they can slide up and down.
The actual spiders also come with nylon bushings so they won't scratch the stainless. I've found a few online but only for 2-7/8" pedestals. I haven't seen any made out of stainless either.
Does anyone know who sells just the spiders without the footrest????

Try http://www.leetackle.com/ they moved from Florida to N.C. several years ago and have a lot of parts they do not show for sale. I feel your pain. I looked exactly what you are looking. They had several foot rest i bought both of them. They at one time were a supplyer of grate fighting chairs and helm chairs,, Good luck
Some where someone makes the stainless parts for for all the makers i have been in the plant of a few chair makers there is no medal fabercation equipment that i saw. I suspect Scott can shed more light on this sjubject...SOMEWHERE THERE IS A SMALL COMPANY MAKING PARTS FOR THE FAMOUS MAKERS....also http://releasemarine.com/ they have a lot of return merchandise they have traded for.the very best of luck

In my search for spiders, I found this footrest (with spider) on Ebay. It was listed for $600 but after clicking "make an offer", I got this for $300!! It's a Pompanette & lists for $1,800!
I can duplicate the teak but now I have to duplicate the spider (or get two and replace this one). Or, do you know a fabricator who can duplicate this spider?
I'm calling Pompanette again to beg for them to sell me one spider.
