Does anyone know the history of the various Hatteras logos?

What years was the check mark used?

When was the current logo introduced?

How many logos has Hatters had over the years?

Wow. I think you'd have to ask Steve about that one in person.I couldn't find the thread, but I hope there is one. It would be fascinating. I think they called it the "reverse check". I wish they still used it.

I will be posting a photo of my boat name on the transom.

It has only taken me four years to decide on a name and design.

It is an homage (or maybe omage is a more apt word to use) to the Hatteras Check Mark Logo.

I have given this a LOT of thought over the years. I haven't been able to find a concrete answer to back up my opinion, but I believe the "reverse check" to be an overhead view (from a map) of Cape Hatteras (at the Outer Banks).

I recently had check logos fabricated from 316 SS. Like other owners I went without the logos for many years because the plastic ones soon looked too shabby or broke. You can see the SS versions with info where to get some if you wish near the end of the "1965 41 DCMY Refit" thread not this forum. Sorry, but I don't know how to insert the link.
