Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
Hi All-New to the forum and have been boat searching for the last 6 months. Was hoping for a recommendation on a boat broker that really is familiar with Hatteras vintage models in southwest Florida preferably Naples/Fort Myers. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.Chris

Sorry I don't know anybody to help but welcome aboard and good luck in your search. What model/year are you shopping for?

Thank you! Looking at the 36 Sedan or 38 convertible mid to late 80's model.Chris

At that price point, it’s doubtful you will find a buyers broker who’s going to do the leg work for you in finding and previewing boats, but Mike Mascari is a excellent broker who hustles way more than he should, and he lives there, and knows boats and the market very well. If anyone could help you, it is he. Google his name. I think he’s with American Marine.

I just bought an '86 45C through Scott Wasmacki of Gilman Yacht Brokerage. He worked his butt off arranging the sale. Met him through a "boat wanted" ad that I placed on The Hull Truth. I'd recommend him. He's out of Ft Laud. I can get you his # if you wish. BTW, by '79 43C will be for sale shortly if that is of any interest to you. Set up for offshore fishing and in decent shape.

That's great thank you. I will look Mike up.Chris

Frank Gordon is the Hatteras guru. He's based out of Florida. Even if the Hatteras you're interested in isn't lucrative enough for him, he has broker-associates who, I bet, would be able to help you. (Frank Gordon Yacht Sales, Inc.) I have personally used Frank. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

Thank you Bob. Yes that would be great. Right now I'm looking to keep it under 40 feet but if some reason my wants change I will reach out to you.Chris

Also if you would, any recommendations on a good hull and diesel engine surveyor in the Southwest Florida area would be great as well. Thanks again everybody!Chris

Find a boat then a surveyor.

I was looking in Tampa and all over South Florida too. Found my boat in Port Canaveral. It was a 4 mile run home.

I have bought and sold three Hatteras MYs through Pat Bustle of Bradenton. Pat also owns a Hatteras Sportfish.

I have used Steve Kambrick for surveys. He is in Bradenton and delivered real value during negotiations. Also after 10 years of owning my current boat, I have not discovered any problems not discussed at survey.

I'd also recommend Frank, he does know his stuff about Hatteras.

Sea Eric on this sight is an outstanding source of knowledge and all things Hatteras. I can’t remember where his brokerage is based out of but that probably won’t matter. He knows these boats inside out.
