  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
48' MOTOR YACHT-Series I (1981 - 1984)
I'm looking at a 1974 Hatteras YF. Does anyone know if hulls changed were made thought the years. It was in production from 1970-1982. I see they made changes to inside of her, state rooms, heads and other stuff. I would to know if the hull changed. Thanks if anyone could help.

I don't believe there was any changes to the hull, Just some minor tweaking inside, FB layout and windshield and also some changes to th electrical system and panels

I agree with Pascal, in the later years there may have been some engine options.

Thanks I could find all the things you talking about, just could not find anything on the hull.

I would think they used the same molds as long as they could. The cost of new ones would have been considerable. They might have done minor tweaks, as said, but the essential shape would not have changed. They would have been more likely to make new smaller molds for parts like the air intakes and bridge, so they could update the looks of the boats, but not change the essential structure.

Like the evolution of the flying bridge on the 53 MY's.....substantial changes from 1969 through 1987 or 88 when they stopped producing 53's. Same hull for the entire run. Besides the cost, they knew they a winner with that beautiful hull design.
