- Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
I was talking with a long-time (40+years) boating friend the other day and the subject of boats we would see around back in the day and where they are now.
There was a brand new 1981 Hatteras 53 in Grand Haven back then, the Lady J. She was unique because she was painted bright white with a gray shear and flybridge stripe along with a thing burgundy accent stripe. The original owner, who I knew, said Hatteras charged him $4,000 for the color change and he thought that seemed a little steep. LOL. He sold her in 1988 to a couple out of Indianapolis. Her name was changed to Bear. It was around the summer of 1988,, but then left the area.
Anyone here know or seen her since then? It was one of the prettiest 53's I have ever seen.
