Dang, I'm back amongst the free people again! I was working on something real profound to re-enter the forum, but I just got a phone call from Riviera Dunes to the effect that inspired my opening thread title.

Pat Bustle and my mechanic Steve Kambrick checked on the boat after being told it had a serious starboard list. Seems there is about 1,000 gallons of water in the stern as the bilge pumps aren't working! My advice to Pat and Steve, untie the dang thang so it doesn't take the dock with it when it goes down! I knew that $250 deductible would come in handy again!

Seriously, they are going to hook up the holding tank pumpout boat to Freebird and suck all her troubles away. It had to be a slow leak maybe from when I beached her a few months ago.

I'll keep ya'll posted. Oh yeah, did ya'll miss me?

SHAZAM!! A BUBBA ON A SUBBA!! Glad you made it back alive!! We should be pullin' outa here sunday p.m. for Mobile, getting there monday a.m.. Change gear oils, fuel filters, one new battery and a truck load of tools and we are good to go. Tues. or Wed. a.m. we should be underway. Got an email from Doug and Kathy Schuman-- they are SB on the tentom in Demopolis and mite meet them at Dog River. Its not too late to join the "silent service"! ws

Just got off the phone with Pat Bustle. Seems the 'bird bath has receded and she's drying out as we speak. He's going to line someone up to troubleshoot and repair the bilge pump issue and locate the source of the leak. Once again, a member of this forum has saved my bacon. Thanks Pat, you're the man!

I guess I can take this thread off course since it's mine. I will make every effort to join you in the trip north there YottsmanWillie. You are definitely at the top of my "must meet in person" list. Guys like you, Pat, and countless others make all this fussing and fighting and jailtime worthwile.

I'll give you a call later so nobody else has to see how much good can come of meeting and establishing personal relationships with other members on this forum. No, that wasn't a slam to anyone. It has been requested that I limit on-site personal conversations, and I plan to do just that.
