Guest battery on/off switch

No, the switch is mounted on the inside of a panel box with two
other Guest switches. it is mounted with four screws and one only sees the
black knob, and front of the switch, which was broken off by a service technician. I would like to
match the logo with the other knobs. The logo is printed on with this font " Guest"
vs the newer "GUEST" print.
Thanks Werner Schoenknecht

Yes, That is the original grey case that is not made any more.
They are on e-bay cheap enough, I have a few in my shop.
The newer Guest switches are differently colored and are an exact fit/function replacement.

Old & new switches I think you are referring to;

I replaced all the battery switches in my 1987 45C, around 2018. I friend was able to find the grey/black originals at a supply store in Ft Lauderdale area for me, can't remember which, only that they did not sell retail.

Seems the "modern" silver/blue will be the only option, next time I need any.

Replace with new. Don't put old parts in your boat unless there's no other option.

Captain Ralph, is there any chance you would be interested
to selling me one and are they in decent condition?
Thanks Werner Schoenknecht

I would be honored to help.
Let me double check with you what is needed; The grey switch as pictured with just off/on or the dual battery switch; 1, 2, both & off?
I'll dive into my shop tomorrow.

Captain Ralph,

Been following this exchange....

I am after 1 black knob if you should have one lying around.

Cheers,

Scott.

On first pass of the shop, I found a 1, 2 switch (4-way).
I'll have to go thru some boxes tonight to further search for an on - off (2-way) switch.

I know I had a few before our last move 2 years ago.
Sadly, I am missing other items that I believe went to a scrap pile instead of the keep pile.
I hope the switches I am remembering did not go that way also.

Picture of the switch I found today;

Just to let you guys know, I bought 2 grey and black 2304a's from Amazon two weeks ago...

I remember using thickened epoxy and gluing a knob back on. Used painters tape to keep the glue from the face, seeping in on the shaft and holding the knob in position.
That was years ago and the knob, not perfectly plumb, is still working.

Maybe get with Werner and get his old knob if yours is out of sight.
It's heck to spend these bux just for a bad knob.

I wonder if Granger would have a knob of some kind that would match that shaft.

Usually the face blows out of these switches when smashed.
the case and back plate is the same for both switches.

I wonder if I could repair yours with another used or bad switch?

Sadly, I can not find my other battery switches. I assume they went to the wrong way on our shops closing move 2 years ago.

So. I have just an original grey 4-way switch to offer.

That was exactly what happened to all my old ones. It seemed as if the front face melted off. The ones for engines and house still worked, the one for the generator actually fell apart so I replaced all of them. Quite the uncomfortable project.

Did you save any of the parts or knobs?
