My 1979 43DC has Groco EB electric heads. Last week the forward head wouldn't bring in water to fill the bowl but would flush out liquids. Thinking it needed a rebuild I ordered the master rebuild kit. The next day I decided to call the Groco tech help guys to see if there was any suggestion on things to try as it was going to take about a week to get the kit.
I spoke with one of the engineers and he suggested unhooking the electric motor arm and manually pumping the head while holding down the foot pedal. He said that manually pumping works the pump lever more than the electric motor - a longer sweep - and might get any trapped air out of the inlet line or break loose a stuck flapper valve.
Well guess what? That worked!
Just thought this might be helpful to someone else.
