Looks like I'm going to have to replace one of my battery banks.. I bought the batteries in April of 2011, and the guy I bought them from says they're out of warranty! I tell you what... As others have commented, options are limited. US Battery in California does make an 819 replacement and I'm waiting on a call back on wait time. I'm seriously thinking of going the Trojan 895 route. Electricity is NOT spiritual gift.. is this how I would wire 8 of those puppies together for 32v?

I know these my guys start 8/71’s with them but you think your going to be able to spin a 12 71 with them.? Using 8 on one side?

I hope so, the combined capacity is actually greater than what is there now, more CA, CCA, and AH.. although you really have to dig to find the CA and CCA on Golf Cart batteries, might be loss in the terminal connections, but I just don't know.

I can't get the pic of my batteries to download but that is the setup I've been running on my 1292's for a few years now. Your diagram is off by a little. I have mine set up that each group of 2 batteries are hooked together plus to plus and negative to negative making 4 groups of two batteries each. this is hooking the batteries up in parallel, basically making one big battery from two small. The hot wire comes in from the boat and hooks to the positive on the 1st set. Then a negative from the 1st set is hooked to the positive from the 2nd set. continue that for all 4 sets then hook the boat negative to one of the negatives on the last set. you will end up with one cable going from each set to the next set, not 2 like you have in your diagram.

Call DC battery in Miami. they can walk you through everything you need, cables etc. and drop ship it to you. Get a watering system too from flow rite. They will have a contact for you.
We are on season 4 with the Trojans and they spin up better than the big boys. I keep filters in the extra boxes.
They have shipped me batteries 2x over the years. No issues, or core charges.

I'm having a take the old batteries out party! Come on over!

I got Deka 8V batteries, six last season and the final two beginning of this season. $400-500 each.

Ok, Think I'll go with this.

I have 4 GC 8's and they easily start my 12V71's. The proposed bank of 8 should spin it over even better but you could also just use the parallel switch.

Are you really saving anything when compared to 4 Rolls that fit your battery boxes at $382 each(last I checked)?

Hmmm, I may be off but I see 4 pairs in series/parallel.

So basically 4 16V batteries in parallel which gives you a LOT of Ah...... at 16V

How long ago was that? That’s a deal if the price is still good.

There is really no shortage of people to find fault, no career in being a fault finder. The post was for SOLUTIONS!

I think what he was telling you is that your third sketch wasn't right. The second sketch you posted looked correct.

Ultimately, this is what I did. 12v batteries in this example, so 48v. 8v batteries made it 32v. Works great.

He was correct, it did yield 16v, but I already had a voltmeter tell me that, and I don't need another one.
