I had very similar symptoms to yours on my 1986 MDKD two years ago. It drove me crazy checking all the sensors (3 of them). Sensor breaker never tripped, engine just shut down. It turned out to be a very intermittent electric fuel pump that seemed to stop working after several hours. It would cool off and then start working again. I changed it out and the problem went away. I bought a Facet electric fuel pump at Pep Boys for $90.
