stupid question of the day ... how does one "replace 2 8Ds with 3 6V golf cart batteries" as per above?
I replaced 2 8d's, with 4 GC's, strapped together in pairs to make 2 12v, but what do you do with 3?
What am I missing?
Maybe just a stupid post. What I was trying to say is 3 6V per 8D battery box x 2= 6 x 6V which can easily be wired to produce 12V through a simple combination of serial and parallel connections. i.e. 2 6V connected serially for 12V and the 3 pairs connected in parallel.
You end up with significantly more amp hours in the same space for less cost, a lot easier to remove and replace and typically better battery architecture.
