Hey Mike...Thats the first Hatteras panel Ive seen with a frequency meter on it. Thats what I use to adjust the governor on my MCCK gas unit. 60Hz = 1800 rpm.
I cant wait to get the WB20 out and the Onan15 into the sub. I really need to test run it at home first. ws
 
Your Generator breakers should be sized for the gen output. Take a look at the photo of Mike's panel 50A shore power breaker and 70A gen breaker.

As far as size goes the only logical reason to go smaller would be if you are using a lot less power than the gen is rated for. Like a northern boat not using any air conditioning with a 20KW gen. If that goes on for a long time then the gen engine will suffer from light loading. If I'm not using the air conditioning I run on inverter whenever possible. The PO din't have an inverter and the boat was up north. When I went through the generators the 2" exhaust elbows were choked down to around 3/4" with carbon from all the light load running.
